2014 Alford Craft Market 40th year Celebration on Monday 26th May 2014
At the Alford Craft Market 40th year Celebration party in the Alford Manor House Marquee where local dignitaries, current and past craftsmen and women/artist.
A very large cake was cut by Michel and Heath Ducos. Guests viewed the exhibition of 40 years of Alford Craft Market memorabilia put together by our President Michel Ducos.
Pages from Kelly's Directory were on show from 1905 which gave visitors an insight into the crafts and industries that were around at that time in Alford.
The Alford Craft Market 'After Party' in the Manor House Marquee at which the makings of a Lincolnshire Ladder Back chair made by Robert E Ley, the famous local woodworker, over the weekend were officially presented to the Manor House as a commemoration of the event. The Lincolnshire Ladder Back chair is a token of thanks for a 40 year co-operation between both Manor House and Alford Craft Market which has proved so beneficial to the town.
The Alford Craft Market is the oldest in the County, probably the oldest continuously running in the UK apart from Covent Garden, and because of its longevity and its history is now famous throughout the world.
